There are craft supplies I buy, there is some material I can make myself, and then there is repurposing! Plain household goods or simple stuff, which can get a second life as a craft supply.
Whenever I see a good idea somewhere, or think of something that makes unexpected, good crafting material, I'll be posting it under the "Keep-in-case" category. Today it's old roadmaps. I know it's not necessarily a brand new idea to use these for crafting projects, but I like the clean yet whimsical look they add to a project. Maps always want to make me look closer, and the possibilites really are endless.
Be it sewing, cutting, painting, folding, printing or embroidery: A good map plays along. When you laminate the paper, or treat it with decopatch or varnish you can also create a waterresistant surface, like I did with the stool below.
From garlands to cup-covers. From bracelets to pouches - travel the world crafting! Go through your old maps and keep the gems!
